It sounds like I'm getting an intern pretty soon. Some kid from Carnegie Mellon I guess. This is going to be great. I've never had an intern before. I don't even know how much I'm supposed to pay him. I think I'm going to make up rules at my office and pretend that it's standard procedure in any office to do something like that. I think I'm going to screw with him as much as I can without permanently damaging him. Most importantly though, at the same time I'm going to teach him the importance of wearing suits. I only have about 2 months with him, but I think that's a sufficient amount of time. Hell, it took me a weekend at most to realize the potential of suits.
Have you guys ever had an intern? Or been an intern? Any good things I can do to mess with him? Leave some comments to let me know.
that sounds excellent... be sure to post updates on how you use and abuse him :P
ReplyDeletei've been an intern several times, and i've always slacked my ass off. so be sure to keep this kid busy ;p
ReplyDeletei used to be an intern somewhere. i just realized how easy it is to screw with their heads LOL
ReplyDeleteScrew with his head reallll good. May he never be an intern anywhere else ever again lol
ReplyDeleteGod forbid you try and actually teach him something =p
ReplyDeleteYou could help him some.
ReplyDeletewoooooo the power! Don't you just get them to do all the work?
ReplyDeleteIt's time to start parceling out every little thing into a million different errands. No mercy!
ReplyDeleteI´ve been an intern several times. Depending on your boss, it either sucks or you have a great time. Mostly, it sucked. Either way, you NEED to get your intern to wear suits all the time, plus you need to take photos of that and post them here :)
ReplyDeletedude interns are just trying to do their best. Make him do whatever you don't feel like doing...it'll actually help him out.
ReplyDeleteBe nice...i was there 3 years ago and its a tough spot to be in sometimes.
What do you do for a living? (if it's not too much to ask)

Make him give you a massage or something. Haha. Youre own slave.
ReplyDeleteBeen an intern, wasn't horrible. Wasn't exactly amazing either but hey you gotta start somewhere.
ReplyDeleteAt least he'll come out of this experience in a suit.
ReplyDeleteHaha, before you guys think I'm terrible and going to torture the kid, let me tell you that I am actually going to make this an overall very enjoyable experience for him. I am going to mess with him a little bit though. It takes some of the stress out from a long day. As for what I do for a living, I'll make sure to mention it in my next post. I don't want to give too much away(and I want you guys to keep coming back ;P).
ReplyDeleteSuit him up! lol, I'm sure he'll have fun, I'm curious about what you do for a living! I'll keep visiting.
ReplyDeleteThe only person I was ever an intern for was my father, so I guess it was me messing with him more than anything. Definitely joke with him in some way.. will probably make him feel more relaxed in the long run.
ReplyDeletehahah how awesome is that.
ReplyDeletedon't be mean to him. just treat him like your own slave. that's what i'd do....
Don't forget to have fun :p.
ReplyDeleteThat mug is from The Onion. I love The Onion.
ReplyDeletehah, onion.
ReplyDeleteI once wore a suit, it was in court, I was found guilty, not so succesful now are they
ReplyDeleteStill in college ;D never been an intern.. yet
ReplyDeleteI'm actually going to be interning at a law firm soon.
ReplyDeleteDon't be mean to interns!
ReplyDeleteAh the power of a good suit, sure, i have an average suit but it still does the trick
ReplyDeleteHahaha Cheese, if you had worn the suit when you did whatever it was, you may not have gotten in trouble.
ReplyDeletePower abuse, ho!
ReplyDeletenever had one
ReplyDeleteTell him to do as the Onion cup tells him
ReplyDeletenice one !
ReplyDeleteBeing an intern is okay as long as you eventually get an offer.
ReplyDeleteAnd you guys are reasons why I decided to change majors and not do an internship. lol. Try not to make him hate his life too much.
ReplyDeleteI would love that mug. I have an intern. I call her my girlfriend, but we both know better.
ReplyDeleteI would say if he doesn't care about the importance of suits he doesn't deserve to be your intern!
ReplyDelete^Agreed
ReplyDeleteMake a list of rules.
ReplyDeleteRule #1: You must wear a suit at all times.
Make him wear three suits at all times. HE WILL LEARN.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat the "Best Boss" coffee mug. It's an original.
ReplyDeleteI have never had an intern. I just hope the experience is good for both of you!
ReplyDeleteOnce again an awesome story! Keep them good posts coming bra ;-)
ReplyDeleteSounds excellent bro
ReplyDeletehaha poor intern!
ReplyDeletenice blog, good read, followed
I've got a state internship coming up! I'm trying to decide if I should wear suits or just button up shirts tucked in with a tie. Advice?
ReplyDeleteHaha, poor guy, teach him well
ReplyDeletejavaaaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteJust pay him in experience minutes.. I couldn't trade my minutes for anything even close to a cheeseburger with fries
ReplyDeleteI was also an intern at my mom's job for a summer. Everybody was pretty nice thankfully
ReplyDeleteAnytime something important happens, send him away from the action so he never gets any actual experience. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut that would be too mean. You'd probably have to actually train him on your own time then, wouldn't you?
Good luck teaching the new intern. Internship are always great experience, but the pay is always nice as well.
